Our group of six stayed in the Bliss three-bedroom Villa. It's beautiful and comfortable, with a lovely private pool. We liked being connected to the hotel and made use of its facilities on our last day because our flight was later. The restaurant's breakfast was amazing. And the resident hotel puppy is ridiculously cute! 🥹😍 The hosts were so welcoming and helpful. They checked in on us, explained things, and kept following up. We felt well looked after and couldn't have asked for better hosts. There are plenty of cafes around, and it's a five-minute walk to another beach with a great restaurant and sunset views. Vanilla Beach is 150 pesos away, and town costs 200 pesos to reach. The showers were the main drawback. The water pressure was poor throughout the villa because of a very loud pump, and the main-floor bedrooms had hardly any hot water. WiFi kept dropping, with no reception at all in one room and spotty signal in the rest. Those things were irritating, but wouldn't stop us returning. The staff more than made up for them.

We booked a villa and had no electricity anywhere in it for the whole first night. The power went out again the next day, which made it hard to do much. The place is cut off from everything, and even the shower depends on electricity. There's no phone service either. The staff were great and worked hard to sort things out. Charles in particular was brilliant, helpful, and attentive the whole time. The place is Israeli owned, so you may want to spend your money somewhere else.

Joe brought such uplifting energy to our stay, and the whole team deserves a special thank you for their dedication and effort. The staff were warm, proactive, and professional. The design, rooms, and food were all outstanding too. I absolutely recommend this place. 🌴

We ran into a couple of practical problems: the second bedroom's AC was very weak and needed maintenance, and there was no water on our last booked night or the following morning. The staff came to help quickly and gave us breakfast at no charge because of the water issue. Kalumbo villa is gorgeous and very photo-friendly. The bedrooms are spacious, each with a large bathroom, plus there's a third full bathroom by the pool. The pool is smaller than it looks in the pictures, but still pleasant and just big enough for a hot afternoon. The large kitchen could use more utensils, plates, and cooking gear, and there's no microwave. The master bedroom is enormous and lovely, with an overhead projector we didn't use. The second room is lovely too and has a 60-inch TV, though you can't see it well from the bed because of where it's placed. The villa is a short walk from Happpyness Boutique Resort, and booking Kalumbo Villa gives you a 25% breakfast discount there. It's a beautiful place to stay, and could be almost perfect if they sort out a few small issues for future guests.
