Staff were lovely and helpful throughout our two nights with The Isla Experience, and we loved the stay. Breakfast came with the room. The first morning's breakfast was great, while the second was just okay, though the pancakes were unbeatable. The family style buffet dinner costs P520. We thought the first night's dinner was great and the second just okay. There were less than half as many people on the second day as the first, which may explain the difference. All the meals were filling and good value. We were welcomed with drinks and shell necklaces, which was lovely. They also run a free cooking class every afternoon. We didn't attend, but the non alcoholic drinks were great. They really know how to make those well. Free snorkels and fins were available, which was great for exploring the shipwreck and seeing fish in some of the clearest water we've ever seen. The rooms and the cries from the rooms were actually unbeatable. Two nights was perfect for us. The island was a little dirty when we arrived, with a few beer bottles on the ground and cigarette butts occasionally in the sand. We wished there were more sunbeds and that they were spread out more, since they were all in one area. Showers had good pressure, especially for a remote island, and the toilets were in good condition every time we visited.

The staff made us feel like valued guests, remembering our names and greeting us each time we passed. They welcomed us with drinks and a warm introduction to the property when we got to the island. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and genuine. Getting there began badly. Another transport company was 1.5-hour late taking us from Puerto Princesa to El Nido, so we missed the meeting point for our shared transfer to Teneguiban Pier. We had no reception and were stressed, thinking we might lose the booking. Isla’s team responded quickly and sent a driver to the bus terminal to find us, call our names, and take us personally to the pier. That kindness turned our day around and set Isla apart from other experiences we'd had in the Philippines. This is an authentic, experience-focused island escape rather than a standard resort. It's rustic and eco-style, with no air conditioning, just an electric fan and mosquito net at night. We found that part of the charm and adventure. I had a wonderful time at Isla – The Isla Experience and enjoyed every moment. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who values warm hospitality and a unique island getaway.

Hammocks overlooking the beach were one of my favorite parts. There are loads of them dotted around, and it was one of the most peaceful moments of our trip. We stayed one night at Isla Experience on Darocotan Island in huts right on the beach, which felt really special and immersive. The huts had the basics, including a large mosquito net with no holes, a big plus, and a broom to clear away sand. It's an outdoor, authentic experience, so be ready for nature. There were nighttime noises and a few visitors, including cockroaches and lizards. The hotel put on a bonfire and a cooking class that was more of a demonstration, but still really enjoyable. The food was great, especially the amazing burger, and the traditional Filipino dishes were good too. Smoothies were super fresh. Staff were incredibly friendly and the toilets very clean. WiFi worked well at reception but wasn't available in the huts, which helped us switch off. Such a special stay and a lovely way to step away from everyday life ✨

Remote island glamping, and we loved all three nights. The huts were spectacular, with plenty of space and privacy, and a great mix of comfort and adventure. From arrival, the team's welcome was warm, genuine, and thoughtful. They clearly care about their guests and the whole experience. Food was a highlight. The buffet dinner changed every night and was consistently excellent. Lunch had a good mix of Western and Filipino dishes, freshly made to order. The bar also did more than the usual beer, with proper cocktails. Piña coladas, Negronis, and the local Isla cocktail quickly became favorites. We talked with the team about the recent typhoon that hit the island hard. A few areas are still being restored, but the resort was almost devastated just six weeks ago, so the recovery has been incredibly fast and handled with care. It's hard to believe some recent reviews have focused negatively on this. They're rebuilding while protecting local jobs and the community. Warm-hearted people in a truly spectacular remote island resort.

The Isla gave us the simplicity and deep peace we were looking for. As the name suggests, it's not about luxury or a five-star standard, but a real, grounding, authentic experience. The front office team were kind, fun, and always available. Henel and Mera made us feel welcome right away and helped me arrange a lovely surprise for my partner, a romantic dinner under the stars. We also appreciated Genesis, the general manager, for being open to feedback and ready to act on it. And a big thank you to the kitchen team, especially Mike, whose great energy made every meal more enjoyable.
