ZEN Hostel OMP El Nido

The shared spaces were nice, with a kitchen on the second floor and a lounge upstairs where people could do karaoke. The washrooms were clean, and the rooms were okay, though the air conditioning in mine didn't really work. I had a great time overall, and the staff were friendly and helpful. A group of us rented a van to visit a farther beach, and I realized I'd left my towel on a table near reception. I emailed the hostel, and they kept it safe until I got back that afternoon.

I didn't expect much from the room, but it was worth the price. I stayed in a private room with a fan, and still got to meet other travelers around the shared dining table. The washroom was clean, with a bidet and both hot and cold water. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. It's a great place to meet people, and I'd definitely recommend it.

The staff were helpful and friendly, but the place itself felt grubby and badly in need of a refresh. Our double room was cramped and had no windows. The toilet was clean, but still unpleasant, and the showers and the rest of the hostel could use some work. We left and found a place just around the corner for the same price, with a new feel and a nice ensuite toilet. This may once have been a cool place, but the owners should invest in making guests more comfortable.

The triple bunk beds felt a bit odd, and the rooms were small, but the bathrooms and showers were clean. There was a good atmosphere, and the location in El Nido town proper was convenient. They also offer discounted tour packages, and the hostel breakfast had a surprisingly good variety. An excellent hostel.
