Happiness Hostel Siargao

The local staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and I thought the food was good with fair prices. But based on my perception, around 90% of the people were part of large Israeli tourist groups, so it didn’t feel social to me. A lot of the yoga classes were only in Hebrew, with no apparent effort to include English. If you don’t care about socializing or joining yoga classes, I think the hostel is very good. Otherwise, I’d avoid it.

We spent two nights at Happiness Hostel, and the bar staff were the highlight. Bryan Quisquiso & Bryan Alexis made us feel welcome, were fun to hang out with, and mixed great cocktails. Their energy made the stay memorable, and we’d happily come back.

I stayed four nights, and the service was immaculate. The dorm rooms are really spacious, with enough room to open a small suitcase and backpack, and the sliding doors on each bed give you a good bit of privacy. Lucy was a gracious hostess who made sure the events were always fun. If you book through their tours, they’ll look after you nicely with their offerings. This is definitely my hostel of choice in General Luna.

The boat trips are well worth doing, and the food here is 10/10. It’s a really social place, so it works well if you’re travelling alone. The rooms are great, but what made my stay so much fun was the welcoming staff. Lucy, Grey, Brian alexis, Ken, Patrick and Gab made it so much better. Best in siargao.
