The hosts are so welcoming that it feels like family and home in no time. They also arranged surfing lessons and a boat trip with some of their local friends. We’ve already stayed at Makulay twice, both times in the big villa, and hope to come back one day. It’s a lovely place to spend a few days relaxing, with a fantastic ocean view. You can watch sunrise and sunset, and sometimes even see the moon rise from your bed. The food is simply great, the best Filipino food we’ve had on Siargao. Highly recommend :)

Getting here was a little tricky because the navigation apps aren’t accurate. They stop at the paved road, so once you reach the dirt road you need to follow the signages. Still, the route is scenic, passing about three bridges on the way from General Luna via Sunset Bridge, about 15 minutes away. It was peaceful and romantic, and we practically had the beach in front of us to ourselves. Ocean 9 is nearby for surfing, with fewer people. We stayed here when my husband and I came to Siargao for his birthday.

A secluded getaway with fantastic facilities that are well kept. The views are the best, the staff are super friendly, and the food is amazing. They also have lots of activities and services, from boat tours to surfing lessons.
