Malinao View Beach Resort

The staff were very good and clearly worked hard to make our stay pleasant, and the setting is beautiful. But service can't make up for what I see as an extreme price. Villas at around $3,000 a night are hard to justify against top resorts in the Seychelles or Maldives, which offer far more in luxury, facilities, range of experiences, and refinement. I expected Nay Palad Hideaway to be a pearl of luxury hospitality in the Philippines, and it didn't meet that expectation. During the same trip we stayed at Pangulasian Island Resort, an all-inclusive resort on a private island in El Nido, and the comparison made the gap clearer. The food was good, just not memorable or exceptional enough for this price level. Excursions being included with the all-inclusive concept is a plus, since that isn't always true in the Seychelles or Maldives, but the activities here felt limited and there isn't a lot to do nearby. Palawan offers much better island-hopping and exploration. Against luxury resorts in Bali, Thailand, Malaysia, or Vietnam, the rates here also feel dramatically inflated. In my view, the price would make sense if it were 60-70% lower. At today's rates, the value isn't there, and it's difficult to recommend.

The rooms felt beautiful and homey, and the place was wonderfully peaceful, away from noise and chaos. The service made me feel like a princess. Every request was handled, and the servers were thoughtful and attentive. The food was out of this world. My family and I also had massages every day at the spa, which was heavenly. A 10/10 for me, and I'd recommend it completely if you want somewhere serene.

We brought our children, ages 3 and 1, and they arranged a nanny to join us on all the excursions. They took care of everything, and it was well worth it. Best place we've ever stayed, honestly can't say enough.

We came for my mother's 50th, and it was a 10/10. The views were great, the activities were fun, and the food was delicious. The staff were some of the nicest people ever and took care of every request. I'd definitely like to come back.
