Ocean 101 Beach Resort

The pool was clean and the place was quiet, so it's a nice option for winding down after your Siargao itineraries and enjoying the view. I booked a Waterfront Executive room with a pool and sea view. The room was decent, but there's no phone to call for service. Staff just direct you to the front desk, which is pretty far away. The shower head can't be adjusted, and the water pressure was weak at times, so I'd give the bathroom and shower 1/5. The free breakfast was decent.

A solid place in a nice spot right by the ocean 🌊. There aren't phones or refrigerators in the rooms, but it's a good choice if you don't need a five-star luxury stay.

The location is excellent, but staying here felt like being in a prison by the beach. We wanted to have beers with friends at the beach shed in the evening, but they made us sit in a corner of the hotel like outcasts. We tried to swim at 6 a.m. and were turned away because the pool supposedly opens at 8. There was no sign with those hours, no lifeguard, and nobody was cleaning the pool. It felt like the rules depended on the customer. The hot water in our shower also wasn't working, and when I asked, they said nothing could be done. The food was okay. By far the worst experience I've had, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Horrible.

The view is spectacular and the pizzas are great. We've visited three times this week, but on two of those visits the bartender wasn't there, so we couldn't get the cocktails we'd come for. My only suggestion is to have a full-time bartender. Otherwise, it's great.
