Takbo Beach Resort

Takbo looked beautiful, and the room for four seemed nice and luxurious, though a bit more costly. I was happy to book the four available nights, but it took three long tries before the host understood what I was asking. People can speak English fine, but basic questions don’t always seem to get through. Once the host understood I wanted to book online for four nights, he stopped me and said it wasn’t available, even though booking.com showed it was. He showed me his timetable with only two nights free. I asked what would happen if I pressed the final button to reserve four nights on booking.com. He simply said they’d cancel the booking at check-in. I’m trying to plan ahead. If I arrived to check in and there was no room, where would four people go? I’d seen other reviews on booking or maps from people whose reservations were cancelled this way, and now I understand why. I’ve had problems with hostels before, so my plan was to check several places that showed availability on booking.com, visit to inspect, then book there. The place looked lovely and I would book if I could. I’d suggest calling or visiting to make sure the room is actually available. Management should improve their booking system.

We really liked having the beach right at the resort, especially the beautiful view in the morning. Our room was clean and roomy, and the staff were happy to help with what we needed. It was a comfortable stay.

We arrived pretty late, but the staff were still there to greet us with a smile and suggest places to eat. The room felt more like a big studio apartment. The toilet and bath were small, though I didn't feel we needed a larger one. Being right by the sea was a lovely part of the location, and the service was great.

The beach is only a few steps away, and the sunrise there is hard to beat. The rooms were great, and the place felt peaceful and secure while still being close to everything in GL. Service was fantastic. I’d only suggest putting a small safe in the rooms for passports and other things while guests are out.
