It’s peaceful here, with parking inside the gate and almost no traffic since it’s on a dead-end street. Stepping out of the room feels more like being in the province than in the city, though the main street is only half a block away. The check-in staff were nice, and my room was clean. My one complaint is the blanket, which was about the size of a beach towel. Still, for the price I’d recommend it and would stay again.

We booked two nights at RedDoorz @ Lagao, but left after one because the stay was too uncomfortable. The towels looked like they’d been used to clean floors, and it didn’t seem like they were being washed properly. Even soaking them with Clorox or Zonrox would’ve helped. The blanket was very thin and so small it felt more like a baby blanket than one for adults. It’s cheap, but even basic things were neglected. I wouldn’t recommend RedDoorz @ Lagao. Guests should at least feel comfortable enough to want to come back.

It’s far from the center, and our arrival turned into a hassle. We had made a reservation and were told to come at 2. We were out in the heat, arriving at 1:40, when he said there might be an extra charge. We had a hard time persuading the woman. I don’t recommend it.

We picked this RedDoorz branch because of where it was, but when we checked in they said the main building had no vacancy. They moved us to a nearby inn that I believe they also manage. It was good enough for a pleasant stay, with toiletries, a kettle, and a refrigerator. Still, I would’ve preferred to stay at the place we originally booked.

The bed was large and comfortable, the sheets and towels were clean each day, and the free Wi-Fi was fast. There’s cable TV, and breakfast was cheap and satisfying. It’s near the city center, too. A great, affordable place to stay.
