Tierra Montana Hotel

The rooms were a letdown: mold, stained sheets, rusty towels, and an air conditioner that sounded like a jeepney. They look about 20 years old and badly need updating. That’s odd, because the bar, restaurant, event space, and pool are all pretty great. The pool could use newer umbrellas, though. The staff were great, especially the OJT, but they can only do so much when the rooms are in that shape. The location is good, about a 15-minute walk from SM and the other malls. I might stay elsewhere next time, then come back for the pool and pay the fee. It could be a great spot for pool parties on evenings or weekends if they update the place.

We only needed help opening the door because there were no spare key cards, but the staff member responded rudely and kept going on at us. It’s not the customer’s fault that extra cards weren’t available. If someone’s tired of working, they should quit instead of treating clients that way.

The hotel is old, but the price is reasonable. The air conditioning was just average, and I’ve had better cooling elsewhere. There was no hot water in the bathroom, which is why I’m giving four stars instead of five. The staff were friendly and greeted us whenever they saw us. Thanks!

The restaurant food was tasty and reasonably priced, and the service was nearly perfect, from check-in through check-out. A few things let the stay down: the bed smelled like pee, there were no complimentary toiletries like a toothbrush or toothpaste, and no bottled water. The pool was disappointing too, it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned or had its water changed in ages.
