After a horrible morning escaping a failed Airbnb and the bustle of Metro Manila, this hotel was a welcome quiet break in Bulacan. The area is mostly industrial and not walkable, though, and the basement looked dingy from what I could see on the stairs. The staff were great when we had to switch rooms because the family suites ran out during our stay. They helped carry our luggage to and from the car and between rooms. We tried both a family suite and a deluxe queen room, and liked them both. They were clean, with good showers, bottled water, instant coffee, and an electric kettle. One odd difference: family suites use key cards, while deluxe queen rooms have regular keys, and the suite power only works with a key card. The room types also use different WiFi providers, and the connection slowed a lot after we moved. There’s a restaurant on site, with room service. The fish and chips and Angus beef burger were both good, as was the bacon and waffles with an iced mocha I had at the restaurant on my last morning. Service at breakfast was great. It was New Year's weekend, and Grab seemed almost nonexistent, which is why we ordered room service.

The staff were very accommodating, and I’d stay here again. The room was nice, though the walls are thin enough that you can hear people outside. The location is handy, beside a tennis court, a casino, and Chinese and Japanese restaurants. Smart and DITO coverage wasn’t good, but that’s not the hotel’s fault.

The front desk staff were lovely and friendly, but I left disappointed. Although I’d booked the executive suite for one night, I found a cockroach in the bathroom and checked out within 2-3 hours. It was close to midnight, but we went straight to another hotel. I wouldn’t stay again, personally. I didn’t get a refund because I’d booked through a third party. I can’t really judge the service after such a short stay. For a 3-star hotel, it’s pretty good, as long as you adjust your expectations compared with 4- or 5-star places. The hallways smell, and the decor looks old.

The dining is very good, and service is fair. There are also good places to eat within walking distance. Acro Residences is a reasonable option for people working nearby or visiting relatives, especially since there aren’t other stay options like it in the area. The price makes it a good choice, despite some minor noise and room quality issues. There can be water outages, and bring your own bath gel. The one they provide takes ages to rinse off.
