Casa Basilisa Boutique Eco-Resort

Working remotely here was a bad fit. The rooms have no Wi-Fi, so you can only get online in the reception area, which closes at 10 pm. After that, where are you supposed to work? The space outside reception is completely open, with no screen door or window, so mosquitoes and other insects can get to you if you're working the night shift. They really need a Wi-Fi extender. Don't most travelers need to work remotely?

There wasn't much to admire around the place, and the villas could get noisy. The people in the neighboring villa sat outside while their kids stayed in the pool late, and the adults sang loudly and drank until 2 am. The regular rooms might be quieter. Also, the villa layout is odd: the sitting room is upstairs, reached by very narrow, steep stairs, so be careful going up. There's no internet in the rooms, only in the lobby.

Casa Basilisa is a stunning place, and the stay was clean and cozy. The rooms, pool, food, and amenities were all great, and the price was very affordable. The staff were accommodating too. We stayed last May and enjoyed it so much, one of our best staycations. Highly recommended, thank you Casa Basilisa! ❤️

The beach near Pia Duran has white-golden sand and is peaceful, with no facilities. The restaurant was closed, so we bought food from Pia Duran.
