Chito's Hotel

The room was big, but that was about the only positive. The hallways smelled awful as soon as you walked in, and the water smelled bad too. The place seemed poorly maintained, there was no heater, and the towels they gave us were old and rough. The swimming pool looked abandoned and was very dirty. Staying here felt like a waste of money, and I won't return or recommend it to anyone.

The room was clean when we arrived, and the blackout curtains did a great job keeping it dark. The reception staff were friendly too, including when I asked for another blanket in the middle of the night. The interior seemed a little better than when I visited before the pandemic. Back then, my room had a floor-to-ceiling mirrored wall that felt odd and disorienting; this time it had a regular wall and mirror, which was more comfortable. We had booked a junior suite with three single beds for three people, but just before check-in they said there was a key problem and asked if we'd accept a queen bed plus an extra bed instead. We agreed without realizing how much smaller the room would be. Both beds squeaked, and the extra one felt like it might fold in half, so moving around could be tricky if anyone in your group is a light sleeper. The bathroom shower stayed at the same temperature even after staff said they'd turned on the hot and cold water. The towels were thin, with some spots noticeably thinner when held up to the light. For the price, I'd still consider staying again, but I'd avoid the extra bed setup.

We left without staying and found another hotel. The area was bad, there was no air conditioning, and the place was unclean. After we arrived, we found the showers weren't working and the toilets and bathrooms were filthy. Worst hotel ever.

The room cost 990 for a Standard room, which felt like okay value, but the stay wasn't as clean as I remembered from my visit in 2019. I came back to Iloilo a few times since then. Maybe the room I got was in that condition, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. 😁 The AC was noisy and didn't cool even on high. I woke up sweating at 2pm, with it only blowing fan air. The towel had holes in it, and the shower had no hot water and was rusting. The toilet needed up to three flushes to make sure everything went down. There were marks on the bedding, and I spotted a cockroach in front of the cabinet. On the plus side, when I asked for a glass and bowl, ate brought them right away. Check in at your own risk. 😊
