Figtree Hotel - Multi Use Facility

The bed and pillows were comfortable, and my windowless solo room never felt stuffy. One night it was cool enough that I slept fine without the air-conditioning. It's a quiet, clean, vibrant (maaliwalas) budget hotel, though a walk from Diversion road, where many of the jeep routes tourists might need pass through. Breakfast was basic but had the essentials: rice, vegetables, soup, and breakfast meats like sausage. There was a water dispenser on every floor, plus a rooftop deck near the breakfast area where you can hang out. The staff were friendly, but I didn't find them very helpful with directions. I stayed during Dinagyang festival, when prices were higher for the peak season, and got better commuting advice to the city's main points from locals I met. Would I come back? Yes.

The standout for me was the housekeeping team's honesty. I left my phone under the bed by accident, and after checkout they found it and took the initiative to bring it to the airport so I wouldn't miss my flight without it. I'm so grateful for that. The hotel is affordable and right in the city, with restaurants and shops within walking distance. Our room was roomy and very clean, and the breakfast buffet was good. The dining staff were all friendly and made us feel at home. Most of reception was approachable too, though one man at the front desk wasn't very smiley. The windows and curtains could use a deeper cleaning, but the rest of the room was spotless. For a 2-star hotel, the service we got felt 5-star quality. I'd happily stay here again.

The hotel was clean and close to malls, cafés, and other places. Still, the front desk service left me disappointed. I had told them ahead of time that we'd arrive early, but they didn't offer any options even though rooms were available. There was no warm welcome when we arrived, either. We were also charged for an early breakfast that we didn't use. The location and cleanliness are good, but the service needs improvement.

The staff were friendly, and the buffet breakfast was okay. It's near malls and places to eat, and it seems popular with travelers, so book ahead. The single rooms are narrow and aren't a good fit for anyone who feels claustrophobic.
