One Lourdes Dormitel

Globe data worked really well for remote work, and the family rooms are spacious. The mall is an easy walk away. There isn’t much common space, though, and the single room has little floor space. The elevator also gets switched off at certain times. My flight was at 5AM, so I had to carry my luggage from the third floor down to the ground floor.

For the price, this was a great hotel. I walked in and got Room 212, a double for 850 pesos. The room was clean, with classy furniture, and the WiFi was fast. Laundry was 165 pesos for 8kg, and there was cheap breakfast available. The hotel was quiet apart from a neighbor’s whining dog, and the air conditioner was mildly noisy now and then. The instant hot shower worked, but getting the temperature right was difficult. The mini-fridge door didn’t close properly, so I bought tape to seal it and cool my drinks.

There’s a small living room and two bedrooms, both fully air-conditioned. With a grocery store downstairs, the hotel is convenient. It seems best suited to guests who mainly need somewhere to sleep.

The bed was good, and there’s enough room to move around. My aircon got cold, but made a crazy amount of noise. The room also had a cabinet, TV, and small fridge. In the bathroom, there was no bidet; the heater looked old, though it did make the water less cold. They provided a small bar of soap, shampoo, and tissues. It’s near a mall, which is a useful landmark, but the wet market area nearby leaves a foul smell around the dormitel. I arrived at noon, and security helped me get my room key. This place works for travelers who just need somewhere to sleep. The elevator is closed, I think, around 11pm and opens again at about 6am.
