A great hotel to have a nice rest before long walks around the city. Hotel "Spaces by Eco Hotel Iloilo" is located in Iloilo. This hotel is located 1 km from the city center.

I spent four nights at New View by Ecotel from May 24 to May 28, 2026. Its location is a big plus. It's at the Calle Real Business Center on JM Basa Street, with easy public transport and the Iloilo Public Market, restaurants, and malls nearby. The FastCraft port is a few minutes away by tricycle or taxi. Plaza Libertad and Madge Cafe are easy to reach for a morning walk or coffee, and fresh fruit, street food, and clothes shopping are close by too. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. The room had a queen bed, small refrigerator, air conditioning, smart TV, wood tiles, and a clothes cabinet with two hangers. I asked for daily bed making and towel changes, and they did it. Staff were friendly, courteous, and accommodating. Early check-in is available for an extra ₱100 per hour. It's an old hotel, though, and some things need attention. The lobby has a sofa for waiting and a massage shop, but finding the elevator is confusing at first. The elevator is small, maybe enough for four people. The room had no complimentary bottled water, cup, or electric kettle. The liquid soap and shampoo hadn't been refilled, so I bought my own because cheap refill products can irritate skin or not work well. The heater didn't give hot water, and the bathroom floor gets slippery when wet. I spotted a small cockroach in the bathroom sink. The windows are welded shut, perhaps because of pigeons. And the pigeons are loud. I could hear adult birds and baby pigeons squealing for food nonstop, and I suspect their nest is above the air conditioning unit. I still enjoyed the stay, mainly because Iloilo was so accessible from there, not because of the hotel. I'd maybe return if the price is right and I just need a bed in a great location. I'd bring earplugs, my own toiletries, and a water bottle, plus a cup and kettle if I needed hot water. Be careful on the slippery bathroom floor, don't expect hot water, and ask staff to help find the elevator. Make the most of the location by walking to Plaza Libertad, Madge Cafe, the public market, and Calle Real.
This place has been part of my trips whenever I visit City of Love, and its city-proper location is close to everything. The rooms are worth the price, though they need some maintenance and more careful cleaning. Wi-Fi isn't very good on some floors, especially the 6th. Overall, you get what you pay for.
Room #204 was clean and cozy, and I really liked the bed and pillow. The ventilation was perfect, and the air conditioning was very cold. The bathroom was good too, with a shower, bidet, and enough water. Body wash and shampoo were provided, along with free breakfast for two.
I felt comfortable and relaxed during my stay. Just watch out for tiny pests, and keep any food or drinks sealed.
The rooms are affordable, but if you accidentally mess up the bed covers, they may charge you almost the cost of three nights. Add the smell, and it really wasn’t worth staying there, lmao.
