Rose Hotel

For what it costs, I wouldn't call it good value. The aircon barely cools, and the pillows are so thin you may as well go without. There are better places to choose from.

The room service took an hour to arrive and delayed us; we were patient about that. The room also had red ants and no toiletries. But what really upset me was Julie at the front desk refusing to let me use the small lobby comfort room, though my companions were allowed, and sending me to the carwash comfort room instead. That treatment felt rude and isn't acceptable. The staff had been accommodating before that, but I won't recommend this hotel.

Room 404 on the fourth floor was dim because one light was broken, and the aircon was dirty. There was no water heater or bathroom mirror, and the toilet door couldn't shut because it had no knob. In the middle of the night, we woke to water dripping from the ceiling near the broken light. Getting up those steep stairs was also a struggle since there's no lift. From outside, Rose Hotel looked promising, with a clean reception, a nice four-storey building, and plenty of parking. I still gave it two stars because it was fairly new, not too expensive, and the room layout wasn't bad. With fewer problems, it could have been a good stay.

I've stayed here many times, and the staff are always welcoming. The rooms are clean and spacious, and they change the bedsheets regularly. The price is very affordable, and I like the Ilocano food too. I called the front desk to order, and it arrived freshly cooked in just 10 minutes. A lovely, elegant place in Laoag.
