The Palacio de Laoag

There were spider webs on the ceiling, and the aircon was hard to adjust with very dirty blades. They have a swimming pool, but it didn't seem to get proper cleaning. Something like perfume or Downy had been sprayed to cover an unpleasant smell.

The staff were great, and the hotel is close to food places and the night market. Breakfast was included, and the rooms had good basics like toiletries, TV, and WiFi.

I usually don't write reviews, but people should know the photos seem to be from when the place was first built. If you need peace and quiet, don't stay here. Karaoke goes late, and you can hear the screeching from your room. Breakfast came late and was served outside among mosquitoes. We had to go back to the front desk two days in a row to ask for towels and toiletries. Wifi worked most of the time, and most service staff were friendly, though a few weren't. You'll know who she is when you meet her at the front desk. Get past that disingenuous smile. Here's a top trick for getting past the caste system here: book as a doctor or lawyer for better service.

The restaurant's food is affordable, and breakfast was good. We stayed during the summer, and the hotel wasn't crowded. The wifi in our room was sluggish and came and went. Since the pool wasn't working, they upgraded us to a suite, which was a nice gesture. It's a good hotel to stay in.
