We booked two rooms for three days, but left after the first night because the stay was unbearable. Four of us were itching all night from bed bugs, and there were cockroaches in both the bathroom and the room. The air conditioning was broken in both rooms, and the pool was unusable, with only half its water in it. A wall blocked access to the sea. We got no refund or compensation despite asking Booking.com repeatedly. When I booked, the place was still called HYEONLEE GARDEN HOTEL. It was renamed as a hostel after we left. That’s cheating. It was a horror night and the worst lodging I’ve ever had.

The room smelled dirty, the air conditioner sounded like an airplane taking off, and the little fridge had fungus in it. The listing said there would be ocean views and a queen-size bed, but there was no view, just two wooden things that were supposed to be a bed. It calls itself a hotel, but it’s actually a private school trying to rent spare rooms to tourists. The pool had a sign saying it was being cleaned with chemicals, but the owner still claimed it was open for swimming. The owner denied everything and refused to return our money even though we didn’t want to stay. This place should be removed from all booking sites.

I wonder if it’s legal to run a hostel or hotel on the same property as a children’s school. I think the rooms may be converted classrooms, since the private school is failing.

SomeOne was always there to help me during my stay. Whenever I asked for something, she’d say, “Okay, sir, I’ll ask someone to fix that.” I thought she was one of the staff, but she turned out to be the owner. She’s young and beautiful, and her husband is lucky to have her. I really appreciate her kindness. Great place to stay, and the owner is very kind.

This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Kim lianie, I’m keeping the date I visited your terrible place, which isn’t a hotel, private. I hope you respect that and accept what I think of the place. Thanks for your time.
