Vista Mar Beach Resort and Country Club

We were very uncomfortable after finding a RAT in our room. At an expensive resort like Vista Mar Beach and Country Resort, that raised serious concerns about hygiene and cleanliness. The staff were also inattentive, and our concerns weren’t handled promptly or professionally. We expected a comfortable, relaxing stay, but the service fell short of what a premium resort should provide. The experience didn’t justify the price, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless sanitation and customer service improve significantly.

The food was mediocre and wildly overpriced, so I wouldn’t come back. I asked for takeout and was told yes, but the food arrived on plates with utensils. I explained again that I wanted it to go. That was the third time I’d said so, counting when I ordered and when my drink arrived in a glass. I wasn’t sure if I was expected to leave with the glass. The staff seemed annoyed, as if asking to take my order out was some kind of offense. I stayed polite and figured there might be a language barrier, but the mood definitely changed. Awkward experience, premium prices. Book at your own risk.

The meeting room incident was the worst part of our company team-building stay. While we were still using it, staff suddenly shut off the air-conditioning and sound system because they said our time was up. Nobody had warned us we were close to the limit or asked if we wanted more time. We had to finish our discussion for about 30 minutes without AC or microphones. The next day, we were charged another 5,000 for that 30-minute overage, even though the AC and speakers had already been switched off. We also got our rooms only around 5:00 PM, well after the usual check-in time, and received no proper explanation or apology. On top of that, after we had paid in advance for the agreed services, the resort told us our function room would be changed to prioritize a larger booking on the same date. We had made arrangements with a sales representative, but the details clearly weren’t passed along to the other departments. When we raised concerns, the sales team and even the managers were rude and unprofessional. There were other problems too. The whole event was exhausting and stressful instead of smooth and enjoyable. I wouldn’t recommend this resort for corporate events or group bookings.

The room door was very difficult to open, which was inconvenient and concerning when we needed to come and go. It made us question the maintenance and added to an uncomfortable stay. Service was poor, with too few staff to handle guests properly. Requests took a long time, and sometimes we felt ignored. Food was another problem: the selection was limited, there wasn’t enough during busy meal times, and items ran out without being replenished. The resort may have potential, but understaffing, food shortages, and maintenance issues affected our visit significantly.
