The sunset was beautiful, and even with strong waves making swimming unsuitable on the day I visited, I still enjoyed my stay. It exceeded what I expected, especially the food. I ordered more salpicao, and every dish was delicious. I also bought fish from a fisherman and asked the restaurant to grill it. It came out perfectly.

The staff were the one clear bright spot, and the resort looks good in photos. Beyond that, our two-night stay felt poor value at 20k a night. The place is small, as you can see on Google Maps, and while the villas share a layout with a living room and bedroom, the space itself is quite generous. It's about a three-hour drive from Manila. Several things in the villa didn't work well. The aircon leaked into the room after running all day and soaked the bed. The engineer said the shower heater couldn't be repaired and needed replacing. There was a urine smell in the bathroom. Neither cellular service nor Wi-Fi worked reliably inside, and staff suggested their Wi-Fi, which was still inconsistent. The bed was too soft and the pillow too high for us, though that may come down to personal preference. At night there was no receptionist, and the restaurant closed at 10pm. After that, the only person to approach about a problem was the guard, who was asleep. The pool wasn't very large, though they did provide swim rings and floaters. There was no shade around the resort. The sun hit directly all day, including at the pool, with no beach umbrellas or large trees, so we spent most of our time in the villa. The beach was another major problem: it's technically public, and the resort only occupies a small stretch in front. Dogs and horses wandered there and left droppings, so we avoided the beach on our second day. The villas are spacious, and the staff service was good. But the resort is mostly as it appears online, and we should have chosen another place at the same price.

The villa was beautiful, and the restaurant service staff were nice, but the service overall fell short. They couldn't tell us what was in a dish, and there was no internet until we called it to their attention. We arrived early hoping to have lunch at the restaurant while waiting to check in. No one was at the gate and there was no doorbell. I knocked repeatedly, then waited almost 20 minutes before anyone opened it. Also, one small banana cost 220 pesos 😂 The rescued turtle 🐢 was the one thing that made my stay happier.

The views over the west Philippines Sea were beautiful, and the accommodations were top notch. The food was delicious too 😋. A fantastic place to stay.

The food and drinks were delicious, and I enjoyed every dish. Since I was recovering from a wisdom tooth extraction, the clubhouse staff were especially attentive and considerate about helping me choose easier foods. The male staff and female therapists were very friendly and gave excellent service, particularly at our welcome massage, which we upgraded to an hour for an affordable price. Our rooms were comfortable and the air-conditioning was cold. There were some frustrating policies. We had booked three villas, but after checking out of one, we were just finishing lunch in the clubhouse when the administrative staff, especially the female team, rushed us to leave. They also added fees I felt were unnecessary. And unlike at other resorts, we weren't allowed to take the slippers with us, which seemed odd for a beachfront property. The operational manager didn't seem equally patient with Filipino and foreign guests, which felt unfair. The TVs don't come with a Netflix account, so guests have to use their own, and they didn't provide marshmallows for the bonfire. Some staff and the location were great, but the management's attitude and these policies make it hard for me to recommend TANA Beach Villas in the future.
