The pool was clean, and the staff were friendly. The place was a steal for the price, and they didn’t charge corkage, so we brought our own food and drinks. There weren’t any cooking pots or utensils, though, so bring your own, and there’s no refrigerator, so we needed a cooler. The shower setup was just a faucet with a hose, no proper shower area. We also had a stretch with no water and had to collect it outside, but eventually they fixed the problem. We booked the Family House Good for 10 People. It has two bedrooms, a CR, and a kitchen, with three double beds, one single bed, and one double deck. Mostly foreign nationals were hanging out at the mini bar.

Thomas, the owner, and Simon were full of useful information. The food was made for me and very good. The room was okay and had hot water, but the WiFi was great only in the main area and didn’t reach my room. It’s a little out of the way. The place is owned by a Swiss expat, and the expats I met there were friendly and good-humoured.

Thomas, the resort co-owner, was very professional and even arranged a 5am drive to Oslob for whale watching. The breakfast was delicious, and the bar had a comfortable, casual feel. It’s kid-friendly and works well for expats and tourists. We’re looking forward to staying again. When you travel in the Philippines, you never quite know what to expect from a hotel, but this little gem delivered everything it described, from air conditioning and WiFi to a fridge. Highly recommended.

We paid 2,500 for two nights, and the accommodation was far too ordinary for that price. The place was dirty, unsecured, and muddy on the way in. The swimming pool was muddy too. I wonder how they call this a 3-star resort. It’s not worth a star, and I can’t recommend it. Service was poor. They gave us only a roll of toilet paper, with no other toiletries, and the water pressure was low. We asked for a pail and dipper to collect water, but got a basin instead. There was no trash bin or floor rag. The room and linen were very basic.
