Bergamo Hotel

The friendly staff were a real plus. Most of them greeted us regularly, the parking security and bellboy/room attendant helped with our bags at check-in, and a female room attendant and parking security offered help when we checked out. Reception also let us check in about an hour early, which we appreciated. The check-out itself felt lacking, though. No greeting, and nobody asked how the stay had been. Bergamo Hotel Lingayen is well placed near the town proper, while the baywalk and beach are about a 15-minute drive away. We stayed three nights. The pool was under maintenance, but the free hot and cold water station outside the rooms was convenient. Parking is in an open area, with security there day and night. On the third day, the air conditioner started leaking, so we had to switch rooms. Staff managed the move efficiently. But on our final night, there were mosquitoes in the replacement room. By morning, my wife, our son, and I had several bites, around 12 on our son. Room upkeep and pest control need work. The staff were kind, but the overall comfort could have been better.

I wanted my partner to enjoy his first trip to my country, so I booked several weeks ahead. Since we were arriving at 3am, I paid for an extra night so we could go straight to bed. Instead, the room we found was far below the standard shown in the photos. When we woke up, neither the TV nor the toilet was working. We raised it with reception and were told the room we'd booked had been given to somebody else. We had booked and paid weeks earlier, so that wasn't our problem. They did sort it out quickly, which we appreciated. The next day I woke up sick and had stained the sheets. When we asked to have them changed, we were told there'd be an extra charge. Maybe that's the hotel's policy, but after what had happened already, adding another hurdle for guests didn't feel right. The hotel doesn't deserve a one-star review, but they should take feedback from customers like us, visiting from Australia, and consider how small things can help make a stay joyful.

After a long day at a seminar, I liked unwinding by the poolside dining area. Breakfast was filling, with bacon, two eggs, vegetables, coffee, and lemon water. The staff and receptionists were very accommodating, which made the stay pleasant. Our room was spacious and fairly clean, with lots of TV channels and even a mini fridge. Free coffee was available near the elevator. Parking is across the street and only fits around eight vehicles, but it was conveniently guarded.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the comfort rooms were spotless. Water pressure was excellent and the heater worked perfectly. The food was good too, with meals and snacks served on time and consistently satisfying. We were in town for the Region 1 Elimination Games for the DOH Friendship Games in Pangasinan. The situation around our stay was a bit complicated and we booked at short notice, but Bergamo Hotel's management accommodated us. Staff were attentive, friendly, and considerate about our extra requests. It was an easy, pleasant stay. Thanks, Bergamo Hotel!
