Altamare Dive and Leisure Resort Anilao

That private balcony view from our cozy standard room was phenomenal, and we loved the sunset, pool, and cocktails too. My husband and I stayed two nights and both wished we'd booked longer. We'll definitely return for a quick weekend away.

Snorkeling was the highlight for us, with amazing marine life to see. We came to celebrate our first anniversary, and it was a great choice. The place is quiet and relaxing, and the view is stunning. The sunset was absolute cinema! Food was okay, neither great nor bad. The 200-plus steps were no problem for us since we're both active. I'd definitely recommend it to couples celebrating an anniversary.

The sunset is one of the best things here, and you can also get a view from outside the room. The place is nice, the rooms and bathroom were clean, and there's parking. Service needs to improve, though. The kitchen was so-so, and even simple food took an hour to arrive. I think it's part of their one man army setup.

The snorkeling and kayaking from the resort were lovely, with a good chance of seeing a sea turtle. We didn't scuba dive here because the price seemed higher than at other dive resorts with better ratings. The restaurant was just okay, not cheap, and the food was hit and miss, though breakfast was good. We stayed four nights and enjoyed it. If you're reasonably fit, the 200 steps between the parking lot and reception aren't a problem, and we went out nearly every day without trouble. Our room was at the highest level, so we were concerned about the stairs to the pool and sea, but they were absolutely manageable. We even liked being up there, as the view may be one of the best in the resort. The room was very clean and had everything we needed, but there was no fridge.
