Amami Beach Resort

Amami's spot is convenient for the ferry, about 15 minutes away, White Beach in 5, and Puerto Galera in 20, but it's far enough from them to feel completely peaceful. We stayed in the main part by the beach and restaurant, which was perfect for a week of relaxing. The native rooms are simple but adequate and inexpensive. Staff were very helpful, and the restaurant served simple but very nice food. Recommended.

It's a quiet, relaxing place, yet still handy for getting around. White Beach is about a 10-minute trip if you want activities. The rooms were clean and well maintained, and the staff were friendly and accommodating throughout. A great choice if you want peace and comfort close to the action.

I booked two nights, Mar 4 to Mar 6, 2026, then ended up extending for one more. The location was nice, the staff friendly, and the food excellent, especially the pizza. There are a few friendly dogs around who like to hang out, along with a couple of kittens. I'd definitely stay again.

WORST AIRBNB EVER! Book at your own risk. We arrived 15 minutes before the 3 pm check-in, but the villa was still filthy and we had to help clean it. The contact numbers went unanswered. We paid for four rooms, then were told one fan room wasn't available because it was too hot and had been turned into storage without telling us. The bidet and showers barely worked, and the air conditioning wasn't working properly in any of the rooms. Power cuts are common on the island, but nobody helped operate the generator on day one. On day two, they knew the electricity was grounded, yet staff turned off the generator and left without checking that our power was back. It wasn't. We have two two-year-olds who can't sleep without electricity. Smart mobile service doesn't work on the island when the power is out, so we couldn't contact them to restart the generator during an outage. No staff member stays at the villa at night for emergencies. The air conditioner and sink leaked, and there were no toilet rolls or trash bags when we arrived. The problems just kept going.
