Bentrina Diving Resort

A cozy little resort with friendly staff and really good food. The bathroom was the only part of our room we weren’t happy with, though for this part of the Philippines and the usual standards, even it was pretty good. We’re not divers, so the beach wasn’t ideal for us since it isn’t sandy, something we knew beforehand. Still, it’s a beautiful seaside spot for a few quiet days and some time alone. The food and drinks are excellent value.

There are only six rooms, and while the place could use some cosmetic work, it has charm and privacy. The people were super friendly, and we enjoyed the stay and the cook. We left 1,250 altogether as a tip because they did their job. My wife couldn’t get in the water at the time, so we were checking out the area for future three- and four-day getaways. I’d say this place suits adults who can swim and manage light to somewhat rougher seas for snorkeling or diving.

For the price, it’s good. This is a small resort with six rooms. We booked two, and on arrival learned that one didn’t have hot water, but that was okay. Dinner was good. At breakfast we had pancakes and eggs, since there weren’t other pork-free choices. The beach is rocky rather than sandy, but it’s good for diving and you can see lovely underwater life. The pool is very deep, so it’s satisfying if you’re a good swimmer. Parking is available, though the road from the main road to the resort is very narrow.

The coral just off the seawall was fantastic for us as snorkelers, and our one freediver could explore the substantial drop-off into deeper water. There were plenty of fish, beautiful coral, and excellent visibility. The romantic, beautiful location is quiet and small, with no crowds or noise and friendly staff ready to help. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Betrina Diving Resort. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, neat, and clean, and the staff were attentive. It’s great for divers and also makes an ideal romantic getaway. We’d be glad to visit again. Thank you.
