Arzo Hotel Makati by OYO Rooms

The front desk team and security staff were especially welcoming and professional, and they made my visit more enjoyable. My room was clean and comfortable, and the location was really convenient. I had a very pleasant stay at Arzo Hotel Makati and would happily recommend it.

The helpful young woman on staff sorted out my SIM card issue, and I really appreciated it. Nearby, there were restaurants, shops, and laundry places, but I wish the room had a fridge. I stayed a few days before going to the islands. The WiFi was awful, there were cockroaches, and the garage and stairwell smelled of piss. There was also a 1500p deposit, with a list of damage charges in the room. Fix the WiFi and deal with the roaches, and the hotel would be acceptable. As it was, it wasn't bad, but those problems stood out.

The security guard was a big help when I needed directions to a print shop, and the front desk staff were friendly. They did ask for a ₱1500 down payment, which caught me by surprise. The room had the usual official notices and emergency exit maps, and the shower had hot water. Smoking indoors wasn't allowed, but I managed. I was staying there to sort out my visa at Southgate. The deluxe room was basic, nothing special, and the white bed linen and towels had faint stains. They didn't smell, but they looked very used. While I was outside smoking, I saw two snatchers caught stealing someone's phone. I also overheard that a bike had been stolen the day before while its owner was eating. Not the kind of street drama I was hoping for. I'd call it a three-star stay, with some crime drama on the side.

A handy place if you're watching your budget, with a jeepney stop nearby. It's between Pasay and BGC, so either direction is easy to reach. There's also a BBQ stall, a grocery store, and a karenderya close by.
