Crown Regency Hotel Makati

We were in the area for an event, and I was pleased with the hotel and its friendly, accommodating staff. The bed and pillow did leave me uncomfortable, though. My shoulder and neck had been hurting since the first night. I liked the place overall, but that shoulder issue was a problem.

The one thing I liked was the location, right across from Ayala Center. The rest of the stay was disappointing. When I arrived, there was no car parking, and security didn’t help get my luggage from the car. I had to push the trolley myself. Trip.com had said parking was nearby, but the front desk wasn’t trained to apologize for the inconvenience. Parking at the mall cost an extra ₱1,000 a night, on top of the hotel’s ₱3,500 nightly price. The room needs renovation, especially the bathroom, where rainwater dripped inside during my stay. Cars and jeepneys passing at 1 a.m. kept me from sleeping. The shower had no hot water, and the elevator says it holds nine people but only takes two guests at a time to their rooms. For breakfast, there’s no chef, just a cook making a small 50-gram meal for guests. They lack hospitality training and need to improve their service to the level of a real three-star hotel.

The rooms are comfortable and big enough if you’re just passing through or in town to shop. The staff are very friendly, as is typical in the Philippines. The Crown regency is just a short walk from Greenbelt and Glorietta, so the location is strategic. If you want an affordable hotel in a handy spot, I’d consider it. Good value for money.

Everything else was great, including the service and the location near the airport and bus station. The main drawback is that there’s no hot water. It wasn’t too cold, so I was fine, but I can see why reviews might be lower because of it.
