For a budget traveler, this is well worth the price. The building is quite old, but it's right in the heart of Pobla, with the main spots just a few blocks away. Highly recommended.

Getting around was easy because the location is central, but it's in the red light district, and there was a lot of screaming. We were woken three times by people yelling in the street. Inside, the room had bugs, which made bringing food into the apartment tricky and pretty disgusting. There was also a musty smell, almost like mold, and the staff came across as curt and stiff, to the point of rudeness.

The staff were welcoming and professional, and the price felt very good for what you get. I liked the Christian touch in the building, too. The room was like a comfortable one bedroom apartment, with a really well-equipped kitchen. I'd come back.

The apartment was a nice size, but it wasn't well maintained. The faucets leaked badly, and so did the shutoff valves by the sink and toilet, leaving water on the floor. Hot water was off until I complained twice. There was no Wi-Fi reception in the room, and the bathroom window was coming apart, letting blasts of hot air in. Staff shut the bathroom door to block the heat, but then the CR got sweltering. The nightlife nearby was so loud it felt like it was in the room. Staff weren't very responsive at first, though this may have been specific to this apartment. The 9+ rating doesn't seem accurate.

After nearly twenty years of stays at Sonnet Tower in Makati, Manila, it's disappointing to see no improvements. The hotel has become quite run down, and cleanliness is a serious concern. The kitchen was unusable because of its poor condition. It needs urgent renovation to reach an acceptable standard.
