Balai sa Baibai

We had a private plunge pool, and the whole place felt secluded enough that you could even go naked. The outdoor washroom might not suit everyone, but I found it charming. The staff were friendly, the owners were pleasant, and the food was delicious. We had a great time and only wish we could stay longer. Sadly, we have to fly out tomorrow. I'd definitely come back if I get the chance.

We had to find somewhere cheaper than our previous stay, a so-called five-star hotel on the island that cost around 9k a night. We'd expected a lot there and had the worst experience. This “2-star” hotel was a surprise in the other direction: it exceeded our expectations, from the cleanliness onward. Everyone on staff was welcoming, genuinely enthusiastic and so nice. They even include free breakfast. Honestly, it had five-star energy.

The resort felt peaceful and made for a relaxing getaway, with a beautiful, comfortable room. The staff were always smiling, helpful and enthusiastic, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I especially appreciated the thoughtful birthday greeting they prepared for my mother. A few things could be better: the shower pressure was weak, there were lots of mosquitoes, and the food was overpriced and not as tasty as we'd hoped. Still, the warm staff and calm atmosphere made this a pleasant, memorable stay.

Roman and Alessandra were so friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed chatting with them over dinner. They always made sure we were looked after. We booked a weekend at Balai sa Baibai and were sad to leave. The resort is beautifully maintained, and the rooms are decorated with care. We loved the art, furniture and little details. Our villa had everything we needed, including an outdoor bathroom and shower, a private pool, and access to the beach bar. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the sandy beach. We also booked a day trip from the in-house dive shop. Roman is an experienced, professional dive master who puts safety first. There are cute animals around the property too. Reef and Nami, the two cats, hang out at the dive shop, and Nala is the cutest dog. I'd come back for the service and villas, and to cuddle the animals.
