Crossroads Hostel Manila

I was grateful they welcomed me when I walked in, since my former Boss hadn't booked accommodation for my review and examination the next day. The receptionist was especially welcoming. The shared rooms had separate beds with fencing, and my roommates and the other guests stayed quiet and respectful, so I could review my Modules in peace. There's a small pantry and dining area with free hot and cold water and kitchen needs. The ambiance was great. You get keys to your room and the main gate, so I had time to spare for a J-Lo outside. It's convenient for solo travelers who want a peaceful, respectful establishment. Thanks for the birthday greeting too. It felt like they value their customers, and I'll come back.

I came across this place online while looking for a couple of hours of sleep before driving to Pangasinan. It was clean, the personnel were kind, and the other guests were considerate and kept their voices down while people rested. Breakfast and coffee were included in the fee. I'll definitely return.

The price is cheap, sure, but this place was too uncomfortable for me. It isn't ideal if you're tall or big, and the sleeping blanket was too short. Bringing outside food or drinks into the room costs a 300 peso fine. There's no luggage space inside, and while lockers are available, a huge bag won't fit. They provide traditional locks. I've stayed in other hostels, and this one didn't work for me.

The location wasn't great for me. Random adults and children came up asking me for money or food, and I worried they might grab my handbag. The nearby shopping malls were nice, though, and the food court had a good selection. The hostel was good value, and reception staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived after reception closed at 7 p.m., so we used the self check-in. The dorm air conditioning worked well, but there wasn't enough space for big luggage. Breakfast was simple but good for the price. Hot water was available all day, and there was a toaster and microwave. The shared toilets were okay, but one shower cubicle wasn't cleaned properly for two days, so I avoided it. Cleaning could be better, and staff should check the bathrooms regularly. The owner replied asking for a photo. I didn't take one because I didn't want to see that disgusting cubicle again or keep it on my phone. Someone had left a used sanitary pad with blood on top of the shower unit, and it stayed there for two days.
