The Orchard Cebu Hotel & Suites powered by Cocotel

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and my room was clean with good shower pressure. The hotel is undergoing renovations, so its photos don’t match what’s online, though it was still clean inside. The restaurant wasn’t open. Housekeeping also didn’t refill the shower soap or toilet paper when they made up the room, which should be part of the daily room check. Apart from that, it wasn’t a bad place to stay. 👍

The rooms were very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. But the stay was very overpriced for the standard and what you get, so the value for money really wasn’t there. I was there for 17 nights and had hot water for only two days. The shower didn’t get hot even though there was a heater. After I complained, they kindly let me switch rooms, but I later saw I wasn’t the only person reporting problems with the “hot” shower. In the other room it worked once, then went cold again. I didn’t have the energy to keep complaining. On the day I posted this, with checkout the next day, they offered me a free upgrade to their suite. I told them I didn’t care, since I had just one night left. Breakfast was mostly the same each day and tasted so poor it was a joke. I wouldn’t have paid for it if I’d known how bad it was. The staff were absolutely friendly, but their cooking skills don’t have much to offer. Will I stay here again? No, never.

They had no food to order, and the staff weren’t wearing masks. The hotel needs to improve its facilities, especially the rooms. The water heater didn’t work, there was no bidet, and they didn’t provide toiletries unless you asked. At least they should have given us a bucket with a tabo. The fridge wasn’t cold at all. It looks good in pictures, but in person it felt like an abandoned, creepy hotel. There’s no elevator, so guests are expected to carry their luggage up to the second floor. For the price, there are many better hotels in Cebu, so I wouldn’t recommend it.

The bed was amazing and comfortable, the staff were polite and kind, and the price was great. It’s also near a mall, restaurants, and laundry services. My only complaint, and the reason for four stars, was how dim the room lighting was. I had to use a flashlight to search my bags, and the light bothered my eyes. The water pressure was very weak when filling the tub, so allow extra time for that. Otherwise, a fantastic stay.
