We felt safe walking around, and the location made getting about easy. Korea town has plenty of good food, plus there’s a bar and restaurant in the hotel. The mall, with a grocery store, is only a few minutes away, the light rail station about nine minutes on foot, and there are lots of places to exchange money. Amelie hotel was budget friendly and worked really well for us. The only bummer was that nobody mentioned the pool, so I didn’t realize it was there until I came to leave a review.

The customer service was fantastic, and the room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast had lots of choices, including made-to-order omelets, fruit, toast, and cereal. A very pleasant stay.

The hallways and rooms smelled musty, and there was construction outside. Breakfast costs extra, but even with it included in the booking for two adults and a child, they still charged for the third person, even though the child was 10. Not very kid friendly. The clerk checked with the “manager,” and you know how that goes in Manila.

It was my first visit, and I found the hotel area different from other places. It’s near Robinson mall in Manila, which I understand.

The food at Braska was fantastic, with delicious Filipino and continental options. I was also impressed by my three-night stay at Amélie Hotel: my room was spacious and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and Robinsons Place is just steps away. Manila Bay and the historic Malate Church are within walking distance too. There was noise from neighborhood bars and guests talking loudly in the halls at 3 and 4 AM. That’s not the hotel’s fault, but be aware it seems popular with groups of men who enjoy the city nightlife. Highly recommended!
