The rooms were affordable, and the hotel was close to my business appointment. After a long day of work and travelling, I was able to relax here. The complimentary breakfast was good too. Thanks, Gran Prix Hotel Manila. I was amazed by the Buddha inside the hotel’s Namayan Restaurant.

The hosts were welcoming and friendly the whole time, and the stay is budget friendly. The room was clean, though a little smelly and dimly lit. Of the three socket outlets, only one worked. Breakfast was warm, and the coffee was perfect. I’d still recommend it.

Turn right and go a few doors down for a lovely quiet Cafe, and the market two streets down was nice. My woman and I felt extremely welcome, the food was magic, the staff were very nice, and the prices were really great. To find the hotel, take a left out of the bus station and go two doors down. Lovely hotel. Please be careful and keep your eyes open for bridge legs and supports.

The room key is also needed to keep the electricity on: there’s a device by the door where you have to leave it, and taking the key out shuts off all the power, including the aircon. They only provide one room key, and when I asked for one extra towel, I was told, “no sir the room you paid only includes 2 towels”. The rooms are very old, humid, and smell strongly of mold, with large cracks in the walls and worn out 1970s furniture. There’s no mini fridge and no windows. The room was about 8x10 feet, like a jail cell, and looked nothing like the luxury rooms in the online pictures.

We stayed 4 nights last month. The rates were good for 2 adults and 2 kids, and I liked the breakfast, the food was great. But the room cleaner can’t be trusted. They opened some of our personal belongings, which I really didn’t like. It was too noisy during sleep hours, and the rooms aren’t soundproofed.
