Really roomy, clean rooms and friendly staff who were happy to help. Loved their chocolate crinkles. Great customer experience, definitely worth trying in the heart of Manila.

The interior, food, sound system, and the way the waiters looked after us were all impressive. I was here for an event and enjoyed it. Hopefully I'll get to stay and see the rooms sometime.

That pool closing at 7pm every day is the one thing I can't stop being mad about. In an international vacation city, those hours should be illegal! I booked 22 nights and got a below par room with a horrific view of a rotted terrace. I'm from the USA and wasn't here on a touristy vacation, per say, so the price was lower than a motel 6. I can tolerate the carpets making my feet dirty, the closet lights that never turn off, a door that won't close, and a light with no on/off capability. The staff, though, are great people. Their kindness and hospitality overwhelmingly outweigh those quality issues, and I'm more than satisfied I chose Hotel Benilde. There's potential for a 5star hotel, but it's been neglected for so long that they're struggling to maintain a decent stay. It's CLEAN AND VERY COMFORTABLE, with a phenomenal vibe from the staff. I'd still recommend staying here, since plenty of these issues may not even be noticed on a short stay. I haven't complained and won't about my stay.

The duty manager, Ivan Alden, went out of his way to help me get around. He made sure I knew where I was going, helped me book grab taxis, and explained the relative costs. The staff were friendly and helpful without being deferential, and the service was excellent. I didn't have big meals, but the breakfast omelette and soups were delicious, and the waiters were very prompt. A perfect place to stay in Manila.
