Roger's Place Gay Guesthouse feels like a place where you can let your guard down. Roger and Mar, the lovely owners of this three-bedroom homestay, welcome guests and help them during their stay. The building itself may not offer the special features of the island's big hotels, but their care creates a space free from the wary looks of closeted minds. The house is in Bantud, away from White Beach's bustle, with a different, private view of the island's greenery. It's under a 10-minute e-trike ride from Cagban port. From the main road there's a short trek, which should be normal for gay men. All three rooms have air conditioning and fairly spacious private bathrooms. The two facing the main road look out over the island, with a retreat-like feel. When you want quiet or a chance to breathe, head up to the roof deck. It could work for yoga, clothed or not. Sunbathe without fabric and feel positive about your body. Mar makes breakfast herself. It's familiar food, but the fried rice and scrambled egg have an inventive touch. If you're still hungover from the night before, their coffee brings you back to the present and makes you repent for your sins. LOL. Breakfast is a nice time to meet other gay guests and swap stories. When it's time to leave, you realize that those conversations and experiences are often what make the trip memorable.

A really peaceful, relaxing stay. The place was spotless and tidy, and our hosts were great. They couldn't do enough for us.
