Walk-Inn

The location between LRT Tayuman and Blumentritt stations was good, but the room didn’t match the photos I’d seen. It was very dark, the lights were too dim, and the linens had an unpleasant smell. The staff were even worse, very unapproachable. The room was okay, the service was bad.

The staff helped carry our bags up a couple of flights since there’s no elevator, and they looked after our keys when we went out. Service was good, and the entrance and corridors were nice. The hotel felt clean and fresh. Our room was cozy but narrow, with very little space between the bed and bathroom. There was just one outlet behind the TV, so we had to buy an extension and plugs to charge our phones and cameras. WiFi worked well, though you have to ask for a new code each day. Getting internet on the TV took some figuring out: it connects through WiFi, and you need to open the TV browser to enter that day’s code. The TV seemed to have a Netflix account, which was great. The bathroom was nice and the shower worked well, but the toilet wouldn’t flush, so we used a big bucket manually.

The internet is slow, and you can hear people walking outside because the walls are thin. Still, it was a great experience for a quick stay to cuddle or rest. Comparing it with the other hotels Google recommends with four-star reviews, there’s a huge gap.

The room design appealed to me, and the room was clean. The staff, including the guard, were polite; there was a thermostat shower and somewhere to charge devices. I didn’t get to try Netflix or YouTube because the connection was poor. It was nearly good enough to recommend to friends or people I know, except the room rate seemed a bit high compared with other similarly rated places.
