The room was on the third floor, a tough climb for me since I'm semi handicapped and walk with a cane. The front desk clerk assigned it anyway. We were three people and had paid per head, but the room had only two beds. The TV and remote didn't work, the AC struggled to cool even at the highest setting, and the bathroom stank. At check-in, the clerk quoted a price different from the one listed on this website. The regular room rate was P1,300, and I was asked for another P650 for the third person, which was fine. They also required a refundable P500 deposit for reasons I still don't know. Being treated as a possible source of damage right from check-in felt insulting. I checked into this Marikina Pension House 3 months ago, and the stay was very unpleasant. Not recommended unless you're desperate for somewhere to spend one night.

The bathroom sink and toilet were tiny and low, like something from a 70s dormitory. The room also seemed old, with holes around the AC, and the TV had no sound. When I arrived, the woman at check-in said the previous guest had taken the key to my reserved room. She asked if I could leave my suitcases in my daughter's room and leave my own room unlocked. I said, “Are you kidding me? Really?” She had to give me another room so I could lock the door when I went out and carry the key. I regret that my sister recommended this place. Never again.

The facility was just so-so, and you don't get the service you're paying for. There weren't basic toiletries or even a garbage can, and the room was barely a room. I left with red legs from the bed bugs. The worst place I've ever stayed. Not recommended!

The facilities are getting old and could probably use renovation. Still, it's fairly affordable and acceptable for the area, with few other places to stay. It's one of the few pension houses in Marikina, and the location is convenient in the city's commercial district.
