Bluewaves Hostel & Villa Panagsama by Hiverooms

The bathroom soap dish was unsecured glass. It fell and shattered across my feet. At checkout they first said I’d be charged 100 PHP, but changed their mind when I pointed out the danger of having unsecured glass in a shower. I was leaving 2 nights early, but those nights were prepaid and they refused a refund, which they were within their rights to do. The room lighting gave me a headache. They use 6500K LEDs, which is a bizarre choice for a hotel room. The AC was loud, and the synthetic bedding was uncomfortable. The blankets were oddly shaped and didn’t fit the bed. The place looks near the main road, but there’s no cut-through, so getting there takes a bit of a walk. Other guests seemed to enjoy the pickleball.

The pool was clean and pleasant, with jets, and our room was cleaned daily. The staff were very helpful and could arrange things beyond the accommodation, including transfers and bike rental.

There are lots of rooms, a pool, and a pickleball court, and it’s close to the beach. The place is private and works well for company or team outings, or a big family gathering where you want the place to yourselves. Check, check!

I especially liked relaxing by the pool, and the food was great too. Bluewaves Hostel & Villa is close to the beach, with a beautiful location, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to make the stay memorable, with amazing service and a nice mix of comfort and adventure. Can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!
