LR Hostel and Cafe

We rented a scooter, and the bus to Cebu stops just across the road from the hotel, so we could catch it right there. The room was comfortable and very clean, and the breakfast and lunch were sooo good.

We’ve been traveling around Southeast Asia for 5 months, and this was the best hospitality we’ve had. I don’t know where the bad reviews come from. The woman was super friendly and managed everything amazingly. We could have breakfast any time up to 9:30 in the morning, even when we wanted to head out very early for the sardine run. She also had a scooter ready to rent as soon as we arrived. We’d give it 6 stars if we could! A few other things: great wifi, comfortable beds, two towels per person, separate toilet and shower, and great air-conditioning. It’s close to a big mall with a supermarket, and you can catch the bus to Cebu right in front.

I booked for 1 week and ended up extending my stay to 5 weeks. The staff and owner were very kind, and they even invited me to their house for a holiday meal. Beverly was helpful, kind, and professional. I enjoyed the coffee and food at the cafe and rented one of their motor bikes for my whole stay, which let me explore the area really well. It was a great experience, and I’ll definitely return to L&R Hostel and Cafe when I’m back in the Philippines in December. I’ll recommend it to anyone.

The main road is noisy, which is the one downside. Otherwise, the ladies who run the place are kind and helpful, the rooms are acceptable with very good AC, and breakfast is fresh and great. It’s right by a shopping centre and far enough from the main town to avoid the busy area.
