Allba's Homestay

We saw loads of marine life, including turtles, while snorkeling on the house reef, one of the best spots we’ve found so far. The rooms have lovely views and incredible sunsets, and the property itself is beautiful and well cared for. Our room was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed. It’s peaceful here, and downtown is about five minutes away by scooter, which they rent. They also look after the cats and dogs, so we left some food for them at reception. This place deserves five stars, and we’d highly recommend it.

The rooms were tidy, and we liked having verandahs. There’s easy access to the ocean, with good snorkeling nearby and turtles swimming around. Getting into town can be pricey, though: tricycles charge 200php or more because of the bumpy road, and they can’t take you back. Hiring a motorbike is a good idea, or you can walk. The walk wasn’t too bad.

Alba Homestay is lovely for a quiet break, and we had a spacious bungalow with a nice terrace and a view of the water. It’s a bit far from the center, but Albas offer a lot to make up for it. We could order delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the terrace, and they had laundry, scooter and fins rental, and transfers to the bus stop at reasonable prices. The woman who looked after us was so kind and helped with everything we needed. There’s direct access to the water for swimming and snorkeling, with a few sunbeds nearby. We had a wonderful stay.

This was our third time at the resort. You can get straight to the sea using the stairs down to the dock and beach, then swim, dive, or snorkel. When Typhoon Tino hit Cebu, though, we were frightened and stuck inside because of the strong winds and heavy rain. The staff were incredibly kind, especially Donna, who even brought food to our cottage.
