Maayong Hostel

I stayed in a private bungalow and loved it. The dorms looked comfy and spacious too. It’s a gorgeous, laid-back hostel that still has a social feel. The food was delicious, drinks were very reasonably priced, and they did my washing, which was fantastic. The excursions are excellent and decent value, especially Kawasan falls, which I particularly enjoyed. It’s just slightly off the main road, at most a 2 minute walk. Highly recommend staying here in Moalboal.

The staff made the whole experience extra special. They were attentive, lovely, always smiling and friendly, and seemed to really enjoy working there. Hospitality is a tough business, so the people at the top must be doing something right if the staff are that happy. The place feels like a hidden gem off the main track as you come into town. We walked around Moalboal, where there are lots of hostels, and that confirmed our first impression: this one stands out. We had one of the suite huts, with a wet room style shower that was unique and perfect for our needs. The room also had AC, a fan, and a small fluffy extra blanket in case we got cold. Great rooms, great vibes, great staff. 10/10.

The dorm was modern, clean, spacious, and super comfortable. I loved the outdoor hangout area and the chill music. The staff were amazing and helped me when I was sick. It’s in a great spot, quiet but close to the beach. Best hostel in Moalboal, no question. I’d stay for a week if they weren’t fully booked all the time, so stay here if you can.

The private room was so cute, and honestly the whole hostel was lovely. We ended up having breakfast there every morning because it was that good. We probably could have eaten every meal there, but wanted to try other restaurants too, haha. The staff were incredibly sweet and helpful with activities and everything else. Thanks for such a great stay, we’ll definitely be back 🥰
