GV Hotel Naval

I’ve been all over the Philippines, from top hotels to super cheap ones, and GV Hotels are a go-to for backpackers or anyone who just needs to pass the night. I give this 5 stars for its super cheap, affordable price. I’ve stayed in places in the same range that were much worse. Don’t compare it with expensive hotels. It’s cheap, but gives you the basics to get through the night: a bed, pillow, and restroom. This GV Hotel in Biliran also has a big parking lot, unlike other GVs in other provinces.

We spent 6 days here before heading to Cebu. We picked this place because it was closer to the hospital than the hotel we’d stayed in before. The room was okay, nothing special.

The bed was an 8/10 and the pillows 7/10. Wifi got 7/10, while the linens and blanket were just 2/10. The thing I disliked most was the noise from outside. Our room was right by the road, so I couldn’t get enough rest. The blinds are supposed to block sunlight, but they didn’t do the job. The blanket was so thin my shirt was thicker.

For 400 pesos, the rooms are basic, dirty, and overpriced. The beds and mattresses were in good condition, but the sheets were worn and too thin. There was only cold water. Despite GV regulations, I wasn’t given a bill, and the staff seemed unmotivated.
