Wild Orchid Beach Resort

The rooms are good for the area, and I haven't had problems on previous trips. This time, though, I used the ATM at the front desk and got a bill that was taped together and useless. The front desk wouldn't do anything, even though they were five feet away from the machine and could see the workers when they filled it. It was only 1000P, but as a foreigner, I figured it'd be impossible to get the bank to replace it, which was extremely frustrating. Poolside rooms have no cable TV, so bring your own streaming service.

The elevator wasn't working when we visited, but the staff carried our luggage, so it wasn't a problem. The hotel is very accessible, and the people there were exceptional and accommodating. Amenities are superb, though the bathroom had no essentials, and that was okay.

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room had a bit of a moldy smell when we arrived, which was disappointing. It's clearly an old hotel, but still decent if all you need is somewhere to rest. An average experience, with good service, though the place could use renovation.

We tried moving rooms after the resort next door kept blasting loud music through the entire night in our oceanfront room. In the different building they moved us to, a party was planned in the banquet room right across the hall, but no one told us. Once again, the walls rattled with loud music. If you care about peace, quiet, and sleep, this probably isn't the place for you. I don't think I'll return.
