Oslob Whale Shark Resort

A great place to unwind with friends or family. This was my third visit, and each time has been better. The sunrise is always breathtaking, and the food and cocktails are delicious. The rooms are thoughtfully designed too. On our first visit we spotted turtles near the reef and the resident hawk that lives nearby. This time, we happened to see a lone whale shark over by the reef.

Being right by the water meant we could take in the ocean and sunset views, and there are seating spots around the resort where you can sit and relax. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, and the beds and pillows were comfortable. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating, including the owner. We especially appreciated the chef, who made fresh meals with good quality ingredients. Breakfast and lunch were lovely, especially the calamari, sweet and sour fish, and pancit. The kitchen staff even prepared fruit we'd bought at the local market. We loved our stay and would highly recommend it. Thanks to the team for a memorable visit! 💛

We were lucky to see lots of sea turtles passing along the shore, which happens every day, and even spotted a whale shark in front of the shoreline. There are plenty of activities to do, so have a look at the pictures. A good time to make coffee is while waiting for the sun to rise. The resort was a relaxing place to return to after being out in the summer sun. The rooms were clean and the AC worked without any problems. The food was great and fresh, especially the salads, with ingredients sourced locally and produce from their hydroponics farm. The whale shark experience is only a few minutes' drive away, but the resort is away from the crowded places, which suited me. There's also a department store and grocery nearby.

It was fine as a place to sleep and rest after doing things around Oslob, and the room was decent and clean enough for a short visit. But manage your expectations about the activities and amenities. The pool seems to be shown as guest-accessible in some reviews and photos, but apparently it's not open to the public. Kayaks are available to rent by the hour, though we saw lots of sea urchins and some jellyfish nearby, so we didn't feel comfortable going out. Food was pricey for the portions. A waffle meal with a few bacon strips and some fruit was already ₱400+. Parking is outside the property, and we weren't comfortable leaving our car there since we didn't know what the CCTV and security setup was like.
