We stayed one night and one day with my family, hoping to relax on our last day in Bohol. Room number 1, by the entrance, smelled awful, especially the bathroom. Opening the door and window didn't get rid of the "poop" smell. In room number 2, where my wife, daughter and I stayed, the TV didn't work and the AC was too weak to cool the room. Then we were charged for a late checkout without anyone telling us we might be charged or giving us a specific checkout time. This was my first time being charged for checking out late. As far as I know, hotels give guests at least an hour of grace. Our checkout was at 12 pm, and I was already at reception by 1 pm. I don't know if the manager made the decision, but her uniform looked quite different from everyone else's. No consideration, just extra fees for people trying to enjoy their vacation. What a mess to end our stay. Make sure guests leave smiling and happy. Nobody even said thank you when we left. 👎🏻

A highlight for me was being able to use two different pool areas across the connected buildings. One pool is for swimming and gets as deep as 5.5ft; the other is a lively pool bar where you can sit in waist-deep water and have drinks, with smoking allowed. Both have play areas for children. There is also a spa/jacuzzi that staff need to activate, and towel rental requires a 500 PHP deposit. The room had plenty of space, with a King-size bed, L-shaped sofa, desk and balcony. There was extra seating and a drying rack outside. The menu looked broad, with local and international options, though I didn't eat there. There were a few upkeep issues. The AC and bathroom faucet leaked a little and dampened the counters. The fridge should be kept on "low" so the freezer doesn't defrost and leak into the lower compartment. With all the greenery, leaves and other plant debris can end up on the balcony sofa. Mosquitoes came by now and then, but you can ask for mosquito coils. Friendly local cats were around the entrance. The access road is unpaved and bumpy, which may be challenging in a small vehicle or with heavy luggage. Even with the minor technical snags, I enjoyed the service and pool facilities, and would return for this relaxing two-in-one hotel setup.

After looking around for a while, we picked a place in Panglao and were glad we did. The room was spacious, and the two pools weren't crowded. You could easily spend the whole day relaxing by the pool. Everywhere was within walking distance.

The resort feels cozy, pretty and quiet, and the price was reasonable. The road from the main road or Alona beach is being built and is mostly muddy. It was a little weary, but not too bad. I'd choose this place again if I visit Alona beach.
