For five days, Kirk, a close friend of Roberto who spends a lot of time here, shared plenty of interesting stories and looked after us so well. Along with the other guests and friends of the house, he helped make us feel like one big family. The welcome from Roberto, Memo, Sheena, and the rest of the family and staff was so warm, and everyone made us feel at home. Roberto was fantastic, incredibly friendly and helpful, and speaking German with him made everything easy. They even helped us get our scooters organized and took care of all sorts of other things. Each morning started with a lovely breakfast and fresh fruit. There can be roosters and buzzing scooters, so it’s not a place for absolute silence, and the water may occasionally cut out briefly. Those things faded into the background for us. It’s a heartfelt, wonderful place to stay, at a hard-to-beat price. Highly recommended! 😊

Yuki is such a cute dog! The team at Pahiluna Guesthouse made us feel welcome and safe, and as someone who isn’t local to the Philippines, I really appreciated how much they cared about our comfort and experience. They were incredibly responsive from the start, promptly answering every email while I coordinated plans for several family members. On arrival, the staff were genuinely kind and helped us arrange a private van tour of Bohol, including Loboc River Cruise, Chocolate Hills, and Tarsier Sanctuary. It cost nearly half what guides at Alona Beach offered. They also made delicious breakfast each morning (masarap!), helped arrange rides around Panglao and transfers to the OceanJet ferry, and offered laundry service. Highly recommend staying here when visiting Bohol.

We spent about 10 days at Pahiluna in Dec with my whole family, and it was fantastic. The peaceful space and beautiful gardens were a real pleasure, and the location was ideal, just a short drive from Alona beach and a short stroll to Danao beach. Roberto, Mimo, and the rest of the crew were the best hosts we could have asked for. We made real connections, and the internet, A/C, breakfast, laundry service, and recommendations all made the stay even better. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

The WiFi stayed solid throughout our visit, and the guesthouse was quiet at night, with no loud karaoke. It felt safe to walk after dark, though the roads are quite dark too, with few street lights. Trikes to Alona Beach are around, but quite expensive. We chose this place because it’s near Haka, where we planned to dive, and it’s about 30 minutes from the international airport depending on traffic. We arrived at 7:30 pm and staff were there to help. They sorted out an issue with the AC and pillows, and we appreciated them accommodating our early breakfast so we could eat before diving, even though they weren’t keen to serve at 7 am since staff start work then. They answer questions via FB messenger and accept cash. Breakfast is one meal, either egg and toast or a continental meal, with coffee or milo. The breakfast could be better, and the pillows are very worn and should be replaced. Aside from those two things, we had a pleasant, restful stay and would probably return if we dive with Haka.

The shared space was a relaxing spot, and it was lovely to have a beer and chat with everyone. Our room was clean and really comfortable. Roberto, Wendy, Memo, and the whole Pahiluna team were amazing and made the place feel like home.
