Azul de Panglao Hotel by Cocotel

We chose Azul de Panglao for a quiet location away from the center and stayed seven nights, but loud motorcycles from the street were still audible. People talked late in the common lounge, and with no soundproofing, the noise carried into the room. The corridor runs right past the rooms and there's a shared eating area in the middle, so we had to keep the curtains closed for privacy whenever people walked by or gathered there. The receptionists were helpful, service was good, and the beds were comfortable. The small pool wasn't inviting, though, since it sits in front of other rooms and has no chairs or space to relax beside it. Our room had no safe, refrigerator, or water boiler. The bathroom was small with a wet shower, which we knew beforehand, but it also leaked and had many ants. It was hard to control the shower's hot water, and there was no hot water at the sink.

The owners are very involved and do a lot for guests. Staff were attentive, and the hotel was cozy and clean. Our room had what we needed, and the toiletries smelled divine. The Filipino food here also brought back memories of Sunday lunches at my grandparents' home. For Filipino food in Panglao, this is the place I'd choose.

A lovely boutique hotel just a short walk from the main area, yet it feels like a private oasis. Sol and the team looked after everything and connected us with special discounts on massages, tours, and more. I can't recommend staying here enough. You won't regret it.

The owner and staff were so warm and welcoming, helped me get around, and made me feel at home. My room was comfortable and well equipped, and the quiet, delicious food, and good service made Azul a welcome break from the crowds of conference guests and tourists from Europe and Korea. That bustle can get overwhelming. I was booked at Azul de Panglao about five minutes from my business conference venue because the venue hotel had run out of rooms. It turned out to be a blessing. I hope to bring my family next time and book diving and island-hopping tours with them.
