Highway to H Inn

The room itself was spacious, but it was filthy. The sheets were stained, the pillowcase was torn and tied together, there was dust everywhere, hair on the toilet, and what looked like husks scattered over the floor. I asked for clean sheets and pillowcases, and the woman who checked me in just handed them over for me to change myself. She hadn't even given me a room key until I asked. There was also a used pantyliner outside, and the bathroom water tasted salty. For 2,000 pesos a night, this was ridiculous. At least booking through Booking.com saved me a bit. Getting the room took nearly an hour at the front desk in the heat. I booked two days ahead, but the staff member they asked to help clearly didn't know what a receptionist should do. They didn't know who was arriving or how to check my reservation on Booking.com, so I had to show my confirmation. They didn't verify it themselves, which felt extremely unsafe, like anyone could walk in and out unchecked. After all that waiting, she said, “I’ll just check you in, ma’am. I’ll confirm later.” Seriously? I feel bad for the business because the room had space, but the service was terrible and there was clearly no proper management.
