Panglao Sea Resort

The staff were kind, and I really needed the break this place gave me. There's a snorkeling spot about five minutes away, and the balcony is a lovely place to watch the sunset. I also enjoyed the salad, pizza, and shrimp rice, all at a reasonable price compared with the Alona Beach high street. I miss my walking friend!

I only stopped in on a whim, but the view won me over right away. Drinks during happy hour are very affordable, the food's pretty good, and everyone from the waitstaff to reception and the cashier made me feel welcome. The staff are well trained, too. This has become my new favorite spot, and I'll be back.

I left feeling awful and won't return to this resort. The first day and night went fine, and the food was great, but the next day, while the manager was away, we waited an hour for our food. Service was poor. When I came back to the bathroom for my gold watch, the cleaning staff said they hadn't seen it. I'm sure I'd left it there, but I never got it back, and I was devastated. I hid my real name for privacy. We were in a hurry to leave because of our busy schedule. If we'd had more time, I would have reported the incident at the nearest police station. We were good to the staff, yet I feel they weren't honest and took my valuable. It's a lesson for tourists: never trust resort staff, and don't be nice to them because they'll take advantage of your kindness. We should have read the hotel reviews first. Many people had complained about bad service, even the owner, and others had said they'd lost valuables because of dishonest staff or housekeepers.

Spotlessly clean, with great service and entertainment. The food was yummy too.
